Brain After Drug Use Cannot be Regenerated: Is There a Way to Heal Them?

drug abuse

The brain is a very important part of the body, of course, so it is a wonder that anyone would intentionally destroy it with the intake of substances such as alcohol, which pickles and destroys brain tissue. The destruction of brain After Drug Use is irreversible as the cells of the brain, once destroyed cannot be reproduced. The loss of brain cells is a permanent loss. Therefore, abusing the brain by drinking or taking drugs is self destruction on the worst level as once that act does its damage, it is life changing and is progressive as the act of consuming alcohol becomes an addiction in most cases.

Brain After Drug Use

For those of us who are looking for a ‘cure’ for addiction, the search will go on and on as there is none at this point in time. Once a drug such as alcohol takes effect on the brain, what happens, according to studies is the brain’s synapses become set in a pattern and the new path they are tracked in becomes short circuited with a resultant motivational change. The temporary euphoria or pleasurable inhibition state only creates a cycle of cravings for the next drink or binge session, depending on how indulgent the drinker becomes.

Dopamine becomes involved in the cycle, which is a neurotransmitter in the brain. It stimulates the brain cells, causing a mood altering condition that hooks the person on drinking alcohol. This becomes a hankering for more as the chemical pathways, fueled by the neurotransmitter, Dopamine, which carves the synapses until they are well worn, develop a sort of tolerance while the addiction grows. This requires greater amounts of the drug of alcohol. In the mean time, as this condition of brain neuroplasticity takes over, the brain cells die off.

Fortunately, the body was designed with these potential problems in mind, as humans were born with a large quantity of brain cells that are not even used most of the time. So as the brain cells that are harmed in the alcoholic stupors of the addict, the damaged neurons eventually go dark as other parts of the brain create new synapses that will take on the pathways of the dopamine and the neurotransmitter activity in the brain. This is a kind of ‘healing,’ although, if an addict does not stop this behavior, the finite number of good brain matter will become extinguished
